The giant engineering company, GE is so pervasive in everyday life that you would find their products everywhere. GE has such a wide variety of products under their umbrella that it can be considered as a vertically integrated company.
[Vertical integration: when a company makes the basic components, their intermediate products and finally the finished goods.] For example, if GE makes a washing machine, it can make the motor, design the controlling logic, fabricate the mechanical structure and finally assemble them to a working washing machine. Whereas, many other companies may need to get one of these jobs done by some other companies.

The last record date was June 25 and the declared dividend per share was $0.17. You may see the history of dividends in this link Two previous dividends paid in 2012 was also $0.17.

The price is showing an upward trend over some time.
