Capstone Turbine (CPST) Receives Brazil Order, Stock Making Breakout Attempt

Capstone Turbine (CPST) looks very strong today and making a run at the July high around 1.20 on news the company received an order in excess of $2 million for 3 of its C800 micro turbines for a Brazilian wastewater treatment plant. It marks the company’s first sale of the C800 in South America.

The low emission turbines will not only produce 2.4MW of electricity to power the equipment and the buildings of the two water treatment plants, but the excess heat will be used to help breakdown the sewage. Now that’s what I call maximizing efficiency!

A quote from CEO Darren Jamison:

“Clean-burning, low-emission microturbines are well suited to use biogas as a fuel. Many wastewater treatment plants, landfills and agricultural operations flare waste methane gas into the atmosphere, which increases greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Capstone microturbines are an ideal solution because they use the biogas to produce reliable, clean renewable energy onsite.”

Shares of CPST are cureently up 9% on good volume.

looks promising. I am really liking these **green** companies right now. Doing heavy research in the sector to make big

Check out another pick I posted earlier: TTEG - Turbine Truck Engines Incorporated

Looks interesting, saw this mentioned somewhere but hadn't looked into them much. May already be a bit overbought in anticipation of Recovery Act and/or other news from shareholders meeting end of month...

Default Capstone (CPST) - Annual Shareholders Meeting

Sorry for the late post. I had to leave for the day.

Well the annual shareholders meeting was quite an event. We also got a tour of the C30 and C65 plant which was a very telling tour (These people know what they are doing!). Also showcased at the event was the full product line as well as the electric/turbine charged bus that will most likely be put into service in NY for a Pilot run (Still in production tweaks). This will be big if it hits. Here is a summary of important meeting points.

-Main Market Penetration objective is 1-5 MW space with new C200 and C1000's (this will put them up with the Big Boys)
-Company did extremely well in a very bad market for everyone else
-All products are Multi-Fuel compared to competitors
-Customers are extremely satisfied with +99% uptime
-High Quality products (reason bus is taking a bit of time)
-Very low TCO compared to other technologies (Solar, Wind, Fuel Cell)
-ROI is probably the most important to the bottom line compared to (Solar, Wind, Fuel Cell)
-DOE has a 156 Million Grant that can be tapped by Capstone products
-WalMart is using and evaluating the product (this can be big since they tend to standardize on stores)
-TESCO is using in 26 stores
-Other stores are Chopper and A&P Grocery Stores
-Will have car at LA Auto Show in Dec 09

Overall, I was extremely impressed with Capstone, their Management and operations. Big investors having been in for the long run so it is a telling story. I am definetely going to invest more. (Damn I missed the +10% today)

also getting noticed: http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroo....html?d=172226 So the big boys will now know its serious!
