The only thing I should mention of Canadian or any other foreign (for you) stocks is there is a certain currency risk but the USD is likely to lose ground rather than fall which would be beneficial to you.

BulloverBear I understand that the list you have here is the stocks you are looking at and not necessarily the stocks you are planning on putting into your IRA. That being said, after experiencing the double leveraged ETF's through this last patch of volatility, I highly recommend against them. The DAILY leverage of 2x actually works against you in volatile markets. They are meant as trading vehicles and not as investing vehicles. The longer your time horizon the further from true double returns you get.

On one of the blogs I visit there was a good series on leveraged ETF's, both bear and bull and he analyzes the longer term effects of daily leverage. You should definitely have a look before you pick one for your long term holds.

Also, with the list of ETF's you are getting big diversification and many of the picks would have some crossover and put you overweight in one place or another, just something to be aware of. I'm not sure if the Portfolio XRay tool that Morningstar has works for ETFs, but that's one of the tools you can use to analyze your mutual fund portfolio.
