I am new to trading, and I have limited funds. I'd like to get more into penny stocks, but am limited by my online broker. I went with TradeKing because of the cheap cost of trading ($4.95). For stocks under $2, they add $.01 per share up to a maximum of only 5,000 shares.

Any recommendations for a cheaper broker and one that allows more than 5,000 shares to be purchased?

EDIT: I wanted to also add that TradeKing requires a $100 minimum for OTC and Pink stock trades. So with the 5,000 share limit and $100 minimum, it's impossible to buy stocks for less than $.01 per share.

That sounds excellent. Is there a minimum balance required or any sort of re-occurring charge with Zecco?

Other than Zecco, are there any online brokers that have a flat, low cost fee for penny stock trades?

I use Sogotrade - $3 per transaction. 1st month 100 Transactions free. Only drawback is you cant trade OTC or Pinksheet stocks.

i currently use etrade but would go with zecco if i were only trading penny stocks. i actually considered moving my account but no pre or AH market

A penny stock typically refers to a stock that trades at a relatively low price and market capitalization, usually outside of the major market exchanges. Finding the right hot penny stocks takes more than a hot tip and then thinks to invest into penny stock.
