Big Smile $LVS - Las Vegas Sands

How many other LVS longs out there? I am averaged in around $8 and have been buying since $5. Figured this can be classed as a Buy now as the Q3 results seem to be jolting LVS to life again, despite the loss. Aside from another hefty loss this quarter they showed some great strides cutting costs, and increasing revenue in Macau. This is definitely a long hold but its been a real winner for me all year.

I'm in too. Wish I had an average sub $5 like so many others but I'm happy for 3+ years holding this plus BAC. That kind of timeline these positions are gold!

I am in at $5.60 and hanging onto it. This is a $20+ stock easily, probably higher down the line.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. Secures Project Financing Commitments
Friday, 27 Nov 2009 09:00am EST

Sands China Ltd., a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced that through one of its subsidiaries, it has secured project financing commitments of $1.75 billion, which will be used to complete the first two phases of construction of the company's largest integrated resort on the Cotai Strip in Macau - featuring a combined 6,000 rooms and suites from the Shangri-La, Traders, and Sheraton hotel brands. In addition to the project financing, $500 million of the proceeds expected to be received when the global offering of Sands China Ltd's. shares are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange will also be used to fund development and construction of the project. The combined figures represent the total amount of funding needed to complete the Shangri-La, Traders, Sheraton integrated resort complex.

Default $LVS

Ahh good ol' LVS. This stock has been a gift to many. Anyway, I was looking at LVS and MGM and see which I was gonna bet on short term for a good move to the top. So i did a chart on LVS.

We are nearing the 52 high of 20.73. First resistance which we will most likely see tomorrow is $18.65 and then after that we will try to test $20.60++ ... I'm quite certain that LVS will set a new high here shortly. MACD crossover just happened recently and we are loving the positive histogram building up. Positive DI+ cross Negative DI- (yes i know i spelled it and wrote the symbol) indicating the current momentum has substance to it. RSI is well over 50 and stochastics is oversold. So maybe we should expect a pullback shortly - start thinking of exit strats?

Anyway - here's the chart.

Been a pleasure holding this stock since last year and the future continues to look bright with the Sands in Singapore opening around June. Here's a tidbit saw today:

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) - no reporting date set

Wall Street Expectations: The largest publicly traded U.S. casino company by market capitalization, is seen posting a 2-cent profit on revenue of $1.3 billion. A year earlier, its loss was 14 cents on revenue of $1.08 billion.

Key Issues: The casino giant, best known for the Venetian resorts in Las Vegas and Macau, just opened the world's most expensive casino, the $5.5 billion Marina Bay Sands, on Singapore's main waterfront. When the new resort is fully operational in June, the company will get as much as 85% of its earnings from Asia.

After the beat down yesterday could be a short term opportunity here for LVS buyers with Sands Singapore opening in June...

Earnings: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/san...k=MW_news_stmp

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Strong results from Macau and slightly better numbers out of Nevada helped Las Vegas Sands narrow its fourth quarter loss, the gambling giant said Wednesday.

Sands lost $28.9 million, or 4 cents a share, on the period, vs. a loss of $80.9 million, or 12 cents a share, in the same quarter of 2009. On an adjusted basis, the company would have earned 7 cents a share, up from a penny a share.

Revenue came in at $1.33 billion, a gain of almost 24%.

The average estimate of analysts polled by FactSet Research had been for Sands to earn 3 cents a share on revenue of $1.3 billion.

At the company's Venetian Macau, revenue jumped 13.6% to $549.7 million while Sands Macau experienced an increase of 26.5% to $283.38 million. Both saw hefty increases in table games volume and record slot machine handles.

Things were even looking up in Las Vegas, where revenue rose 2.2% to $325.5 million ob record table games drop although hotel occupancy levels were essentially flat and both rates and revenue per available room - a key industry metric known as RevPAR - were down.

Sin City has been hit especially hard by the downturn, with visitation levels dropping and spending by those who do come sharply lower. And, amid a glut of new rooms, that has pressured rates and dragged down margins at all the major casino operators.

Shares of Sands rose slightly in after-hours trading after losing almost 7% during the regular session.

WSJ: Singapore 'Promising,' Sands Says - WSJ.com

BY ALEXANDRA BERZON

Las Vegas Sands Corp. Chief Executive Sheldon Adelson Thursday said that initial results from his $5.7 billion Marina Bay Sands casino resort in Singapore, which opened 10 days ago, "are extremely promising."

"Visitation and gaming play levels have been robust," Mr. Adelson said in a conference call with analysts Thursday afternoon.

The company posted a first-quarter profit of $17.6 million compared with a loss of $34.6 million for the first quarter last year. Earnings in Las Vegas climbed 62% and Macau profit quadrupled.

Results in Singapore were not included in the first-quarter figures.
