I'm in BEE @ 1.12 since May. Not too LONG on this stock (and it's been a long wait) so will likely take free shares soon (see below). Still not sure what caused today's volume and price spike but it was a nice reward. This is all I could find:

Source: Technical Outlook: BEE, CHCI, COOL, CYBI : Small Cap Stock Analysis : Small Cap Network

As we said of CHCI, we're not big fans of chasing strong breakout moves, but we're willing to make exceptions. Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (BEE) is another one of those exceptions. The stock's 39% jump on Thursday pales in comparison to the near 100% decline it saw between 2007 and the end of 2008. It's been slowly climbing out of its rut since then; the pace quickened today.

The only remaining hurdle BEE may be facing is a ceiling at $2.29, where the stock peaked in January. It was a different time and scenario then though, so it may have been forgotten. Still, we do think Strategic Hotels & Resorts shares are set top be reeled in temporarily. Today's strong volume, however, should be a hint that the overall trend has made a paradigm shift.

Just wait for the dip.

BEE just touched $3 today. I cannot find much info on specifics for what is driving this today but other luxury resort/hotel REITS have gone up about 50% to what they were valued at before the crash in Oct. BEE looks to be catching up.

There have also been some large buys in BEE this summer including Vector who bought 7% around $1.65. http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/St...03&tof=9&frt=3
