I don't trade tech stocks much, I do watch the Q's as one of my main market direction indicators [along with DJT and BANK], but I can't help but poke my nose into you tech guys business here.
Google announces they will buy one company per month, almost taunting me to get ahead of them. So who are good takeover prospects? I think most traders will be targeting search technology companies like the Double Click deal. I am thinking maybe a green energy or smart grid play. ![]() What comes to mind for you?

smart grid play certainly is an interesting angle, especially given their stance on renewable energy, data center placement, company hq etc. unfortunately i dont have any picks for you and front running a google play could prove to be especially tough. leaning domestic or foreign?

Skype? Internet/streaming radio?
maybe these? (found on a few other sites) 1. StumbleUpon "...finds things that you didn't know you were looking for." 2. Twitter "...a way to refine web results based on 'trending...'" 3. Valve "...there's still room for an iTunes of gaming..." 4. FriendFeed "FriendFeed has an excellent chance of ruling Search..." 5. WordPress "...buying it would be even better for Blogger..." 6. Last.fm "...it's another way for Google to offer a search and advertising platform." here's some history for ya Why Google Buys Companies |

Google seems to be going on the right path and if they manage their finances well, could potentially rake in huge earnings for investors. However, the risk here is that with the current economic downturn, just one wrong firm acquired means losses. So, short term investors please keep out. On the flip side, for long term profits, Google looks to be the next Yahoo and I predict its longevity in the market.

Earnings for Google should be strong, If anyone doubts the Internet King, think again. Google has been rallying since all year up 80% ytd. Google has the momentum behind them with three recent upgrades that I am sure they will come through and crush the earnings report and report a positive long-term outlook. I think we are starting to see a resurgence in Ad spending that will send Google to $600.
