ok so i need a broker that allows canadian residents to apply but it needs the following:
-able to buy pinks and OTC stocks without having to call in every single time -fast fill executions QUestrade is a piece of garbage and you cannot get filled unless the stock is tanking. biggest joke out there. i almost smashed my computer. bid ask at .075/.079 with hundreds of buys going through at .075 and higher and my .074 never filling. Same story for every single stock. So not them Scotia itrade i also have. Love the executions but i have to call in every singel time for pinks and otc and split seconds make the difference between making and losing money. i am currently opening an account with credential direct, trade freedom and interactive brokers. Hopefully one of them will work out for me. I think think or swim canada would have been best because im guessing they have good executions and i checked and they allow pinsk and otc buying. But they are not accepting any new customers till their merger is complete. So anybody out there who knows of some brokerage firm thats fast, allows you to buy pinks and otc and allows canadian clients, please im begging you let me know. Also last thought: i have a swiss passport and technically am a swiss resident. Would i maybe be able to open an account with an american firm and say im swiss even though i live in canada? |

Sorry late reply...I would suggest waiting for the TOS Canada accounts to open up, but if you really can't wait for that get an account with IB...they are really much better than iscotia or quest and allow for trading most pinks/otc without a phone call... the downside is the trades are slightly more expensive but you likely know that.
as for being Swiss living in Canada...might I suggest you look at where the taxes are lightest before opening the account...cap gains on Canadian trading is quite high. See: Canada Switzrland |
