Default Nautical Petroleum NPE (AIM / OIL) - Watch

This is a crouching tiger hidden dragon. We have two North Sea oil discoveries "Mariner" and "Kraken" Heavy oil.

Yeah Kraken that massive sea beast. This is a beast waiting to happen, but alas, long time in future. Its now trading up due to them extending their bank facility. Now........ oil prices and economy recovery to one side....... I am hoping it actually will come down alot to make me want to buy this now. Otherwise I wait.

I feel it will go down as real work and production will be a while. A long while. So keep an eye on it

Kraken all going well could produce oil by 2012 from a floating platform. This could produce 30,000 barrels per day. Mariner is even bigger producing 45,000 a day but not til............. 2014

Also

THEY NEED ALOT OF FINANCING
Also check the oil - COULD be by 2012 / 2014. Gesh, not exciting. Share price is 37.5 pence now, AFREN producing 65,000 in near future, 27,000 now - and afren is like 37 pence!!!! Afren is way under priced even in this market.... But back to Nautical.....
I believe at this level of stock price its VERY sceptical. They have a long way to go. Its heavy oil, hard to get.

So just stick this one on alert, on your back burner. Oil price rises will help this but at the current price vs other oil stocks, this has to be a hold. Whatever the analysts or papers tell you. Likewise if it moves up heavy then could be a short candidate as why buy this for oil in 2012, unless its like 6 pence. Hell RIFT is a better deal.

One for the future

Yeah - what I suggested is on a post like this when you click send it asks you "Do you want to tip this"

It then asks the name of teh stock, the duration of the tip, and the estimated price you think it will get. When you click send the forum remainds, people can comment

BUT the tip is put to a summary screen. A big list of tips. You can then look at the new tips, see the old ones, see the target dates and prices. If one looks good you click and can go to the forum discussion

Hence if I tipped this one, and stated in a 6 months it will be 400 pence. People ignore it. The forum post gets buried. The tip IS STILL on this big summary screen (think financial pages). If you click, it will dig up the old post, so you can still review it.

Now also on the summary screen it will alert to 'new tips' you can see the new tips so can ignore the bulk of the general forum discussions

Also you can filter to only show say traders with high respect

When the 'tips' expire WE as managers can allocate reputation or awards to tipsters that get it right. Downgrade ones that get it wrong. Put the good ones on hall of fame. Hence they will roll in new, and roll off. They cant be edited

Further more advanced - we get a live feed on the current price and show the time left of the tip. Thus showing the % gain or fall.

This method means

1) You have to commit to a share tip. You cant say "I told you to buy this one a month back" when it was a suggestion. Its a tip
2) members with no time can see the new tips, review the old ones
3) we dont lose old forum posts as if the tip is still there, you can click on it
4) We can allocate respect or remove it on the good tipsters
5) The user can apply filters to see tips from certain members i.e. VicVans tips, or tips from traders with reputation above 500
6) Noobs can follow but aslo tip. Sure they may be ignored but if they get it right, we give them respect, they grow and eventually people follow them

It runs itself
We have tip screens to NYSE, AIM, Shorts, or Mining, Gambling those sectors

It will again be

1) Unique
2) Quirky

I know it will work like a dream. Will be perfect. Ideally it will steam live numbers. But ultimately a very quick tip screens that links to more detailed pages

Ideas off this include the fact people can VOTE if they agree on the tip. OR bigger traders can 'put their name to it' if they agree or brought it. Either that OR it shows the people who have brought it.

Also if say you tipped XL and its done well but before teh tip date you wanted to warn people of a huge issue. You post on the forum, which you can find by the summary share screen. When you post a new messsage - THAT is also shown on the summary screen, maybe moves it to the top, so other people can see there has been a recent post to read

Further more people can set alerts so if on a long tip someone DID post a message it will be emailed to them. i.e. CZA is quiet, I note some major good news, I post in the forum (only ONE per tip) and people get an alert so they read it and dont miss the news

pretty dam perfect flow...............

Nice eh

Not just pages of forums that are hard to read where we have multiple posts on similar shares. You HAVE to commit to the tip, which is there for all to see. And then people comment, argue, vote, and then its finally tested

Cheers!!!!!!

Vic,
Know of them but hadn't done much reasearch on them. Had a look this morning and looks like the Mariner and Kraken reserves could be very fruitful.

However it looks like Kraken will not be online with first oil until 2012 and Mariner 2015.

The 3 new exploration wells being drilled this year should feed more reserves into the pipeline so by late summer we should have news on them. The appraisel on Kraken later in the year should also increase the optimisim in this stock.

Im keeping an eye and holding for the reserve report update on Mariner due around Oct-09

Hi Vic - I've been keeping an eye on Nautical for some time too and agree that it's a long term burner. Perhaps if it really becomes cheap but has secured it's financing position it will become a small buy for me.

I've read a lot of your posts on here and value them but just would like clarifciation on something you stated above (and I believe on other posts to).

You compare Nautical to Afren by looking at share price. For any kind of quick comparison surely you would need to consider the number of shares in issue and hence market capitalisation. In isolation the share price doesn't tell you anything of any use relative to another company unless they happened to have a very similar number of shares in issue. Might just be the way you worded it but interested in your thoughts on this.

For info (at today's prices)

NAU: 55p x 63.41m shares in issue = £34.88m
AFR: 42.8p x 446.99m shares in issue = £191.31m

This shows that Afren is value at around 6 times that of Nautical.
