Default Vegas Strip Report: Outstanding!

Hey guys,

I had family in town this weekend, so I spent a good deal of my time on the strip from Thurs. through Sun. and I have to say, it was the busiest weekend I have seen here in about two years! Every casino that I went to had above average traffic and it was rare to see a table that was closed, especially after noon.

Family stayed at Harrah's and it was packed with bloated midwesterners spending cash. We watched the NFL draft at Ceasars Palace and you couldn't get a seat after 11am. We were lucky to get there early and get a seat within viewing distance of the Pussycat Dolls blackjack pit ;) By the time we vacated the sports book, the tables were swamped and the line to get a cab was ridiculous.

Later that night, we stayed at Planet Hollywood and had dinner down at MGM. The sidewalks were as crowed as I've seen in a long time, walking between the two resorts and, again, the tables and both places were swarmed with gamblers. My sister and brother in law came on the same weekend last year and both commented on how much more crowed it was compared to 2008.

I'm thinking things are going to get back to 'normal' in Vegas pretty soon. 1st quarter results may still not be that great, but I think you're gonna see a pretty darn good 2nd quarter report from LVS and MGM.
