FTI Consulting Appoints Cheryl Davis to Boost Cyber Security

Multi-disciplined consulting firm — FTI Consulting, Inc. FCN — has made strategic changes in its management with another appointment this month. The company recently appointed Cheryl Davis to its cross-segment cybersecurity team as a Managing Director in the Technology segment.

Davis’ Professional Experience

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Davis served as the Director for Cybersecurity Policy at the U.S. National Security Council and Principal Director of Cyber Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Davis also served as the staff of the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

The Agreement and Benefits

Per the appointment, Davis will be based in Washington, D.C. She will provide assistance to corporate and government clients with threat prevention, incident response and remediation, system architecture and design, privacy notifications and programs, IT strategy, governance, program assessment and data security. She will work directly with Senior Managing Director Anthony J. Ferrante, who is the former Director for Cyber Incident Response at the U.S. National Security Council.

Davis has experience of working with the U.S. government to implement policies that shield the nation from foreign threats and infrastructure failures. She also has expertise in facilitating cross-border cybersecurity agreements, which will enable the company to protect its clients against cyber incidents and implement strategies to decrease future exposure.

Similar Appointments This Month

Earlier this month, the company named Peter Glanville as a Senior Managing Director and Graham Davies as a Managing Director in the company’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment in Hong Kong. Glanville and Davies are expected to enhance the company’s risk, investigations and disputes offerings across Asia.

Glanville and Davies will help strengthen the company’s accounting and financial reporting, disputes, fraud, regulatory scrutiny and anti-corruption services. Their expertise will help enhance FTI Consulting’s relationship with its clients.

In additions to these two appointments, the company has also appointed Lawrence Smith, who will lead the firm’s Global Risk & Investigations Practice in the Middle East and North Africa; and a senior team in South Africa focused on complex cases of fraud, financial disputes and corruption.

Performance of the Company

FTI Consulting has underperformed the industry in the last month with a gain of 3.1% compared with 3.4% rally for the latter. However, we expect increased regulatory scrutiny and a proliferation of corporate litigation to strengthen demand for the company’s products.
